Special Educator for Hearing Care

Do you want a stimulating and rewarding job as a special educator? We are looking for a new colleague for hearing care who will work with our patients from newly diagnosed hearing loss throughout their lives!

As a special educator focusing on hearing, you provide advice, support, and guidance to both patients and their surroundings, with a focus on communication strategies, approaches, and sound environments.

You assess the patients' needs and collaboratively create individual care plans with the patient and their relatives. You also follow up with patients according to current routines and quality registers for hearing loss. An important part of the job is to collaborate with other professionals within the region and municipality to ensure the best possible care and support for the patient.

About You

You have a special education degree along with good knowledge of teaching sign language and TSS. You need to be self-sufficient and able to plan your tasks effectively, as well as have experience working with both children and adults. You also have good collaboration skills and can work effectively in a team. It is important that you are flexible and have a holistic view of your work, considering both the patient's and the organization's best interests. You have a pedagogical approach and can easily convey your message. As a person, you have an empathetic ability and provide a good reception to people of all ages regardless of background. It is a requirement that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, and that you hold a driver's license. Previous experience in the field is an advantage.

Västervik Hospital is one of three hospitals in Kalmar County. The hospital is an emergency hospital with maternity care and a delivery ward.
